When to Use Each Rotation
- ±90° — Fix images that came out sideways from a phone camera.
- 180° — Flip an image upside down.
- Slider — Straighten a tilted horizon or a slightly crooked scan. Even a 1° correction can make a photo look much more polished.
Why the Image Gets Bigger After Rotating
When you rotate by an angle other than 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270°, the bounding box of the image grows to fit the rotated shape. Empty corners are filled with the background color you choose, or left transparent if you export as PNG/WebP.

Does rotation lose quality?
Snapping to 90°, 180°, or 270° is lossless — pixels are remapped exactly. Other angles require resampling, so you may notice a very slight softening at zoom-in level.
Can I keep a transparent background?
Yes. Pick the transparent option and export as PNG or WebP. JPG does not support transparency — it will use the background color you select.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is rotated in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
