How to Watermark Effectively
- Don't make it invisible. A watermark too faint to see is also easy to crop or paint out. Aim for around 30-50% opacity.
- Don't make it ugly. A huge solid block across the middle prevents theft but ruins the photo. Find a balance.
- Tile for maximum protection. A repeating pattern across the whole image is hardest to remove without obviously degrading the photo.
- Corner watermarks are easy to crop out. Use them for branding rather than copy protection.
